Capsule Wardrobe For Kids

There’s a false idea that capsule wardrobe or a minimal closest has to be white, black, and grey but that’s just a lie. There’s SO much room for fun with colours, shapes and patterns. The key is making sure that pieces still maintain their coordinating abilities — and one of the most attainable ways to achieving that, is to shop at fewer places.
Whether you choose to shop big box, small business, independent maker, etc. more often than not the collections that come out for the season have some sense of theme or colour palette — and choosing to keep purchases from fewer places, does half the work for you.
I more or less shop at the same 3 places, every season for R’s wardrobe, because I know I can depend on the make, am familiar with the materials, and regardless of what palette I’m trying to go with — helps keep his capsule both versatile and interchangeable.
On of those brands — as you probably know — is Sēm Label. A conscious children’s label, mother designed, and locally made in Calgary (Canada).
I do like to keep it funky and fun when it comes to little ones and I know that Kelsey always has a small but significant selection of rich colours but also a pattern or two that equally coordinate. With that being the case, I almost always select “main pieces” or the equivalent to statement pieces, from there.
Whether you want to keep it highly streamlined and just add some basics like a white tee or pair of denim, or are looking to expand a bit with additional foundations and a few complimentary pieces — these capsules are perfect to get you from spring, to summer, and (some pieces) even being put to use throughout the rest of year.
